KELLY ROWLAND- Vocal Profiles
Vocal Type: Mezzo Soprano
Vocal Range: 3 Octaves
Highest Note: C6
Highest Belt: F5
Lowest Note: C3
Voice Analysis- Technical Aspects:
Range:
Wide vocal range.
Tone:
The chest notes brim with resonance, even at the lowest notes (though it used to be patchy and weak). The voice in general is thick, well-rounded and can further impress us with a classically, rolling vibrato.
Power/ Belt-Quality:
Well-supported belts that shine with strength and solid vocal weight. The belts lack forward placement and edginess.
Melisma:
Kelly is an expert in melisma, being able to sing complex runs with SUPER flexibility and precision.
Pitch:
May go off key live, due to the dancing she does.
In a Nutshell...
Positives:
Weighty, well-rounded voice that is capable of well-supported belts. Able to execute complex vocal runs.
Negatives:
Upper belts are unstable and achieved via unhealthy technique, sounding like she is shouting. Pitch is not accurate live sometimes, especially when dancing.
