CELINE DION- Vocal Profile

Vocal Type: Soprano
Vocal Range: 3 Octaves 2 Notes
Highest Note: E6
Highest Belt: C6
Lowest Note: B2
Voice Analysis- Technical Aspects:
Range:
Wide vocal range, with seemingly expert control over the voice as a whole.

Tone:
Lower notes are smoky, dark and well-placed.  The mid-range is nasal and bright. The belting range retains the signature nasality in her voice and sounds thin and sharp. The head voice is bright and rings with resonance. Beautiful, stunning vibrato, however it is thin.

Power/Belt Quality:

Well placed, well supported, resonant belts. Belts are effortless and stretch high enough to keep its resonance even at the soprano "C". However, the belts lack edginess, indicating that when belting, she does not keep an open throat, thus causing her belts to lack both depth and edginess. Great projection of the voice indicates great forward placement.

Melisma:
Capable of executing fast melismas with ease, perfect pitching and flexibilty. However, whenever riffing her diction is sacrificed.

Pitch:
Great pitch live.

In a Nutshell..
Positives:
Great, bright, powerful belts. Coupled with fast, accurate melismas make Celine a fantastic technical singer. Unique pronunciation of words makes her tone unique and instantly recognizable,
Negatives:
The voice is only placed in the mask and the throat is not open when belting, thus the belted notes carry too much of a nasal twang. Upper belts sound shrill. The lower notes lack resonance . Thin vibrato.
