Range:
Wide chest register, that belts up to a soprano C6 with or without mixing. The head voice and whistle register sound disconnected from the rest of the voice, indicating that the  voice may not be totally well-connected.

Tone:
Clarkson's tone is husky and smokey in the lower part of the chest voice, being well-supported. In the mid-range, Kelly's tone solidifies and gains vocal weight, being well-rounded with a slight husky timbre. In the belting range, Kelly's voice retains its tone and character as her chest notes, indicating that her lower register and belting register are well-connected. A wide, thick fast vibrato can be applied in all areas of the voice. Her head voice is clear, distinct and bright while being full at the same time. 

Belt Quality/ Power:
Kelly's belts are well-placed, well-supported, and achieved via brilliant technique. Her powerful belts are resonant enough to fill a room and can even slice through heavy instrumentation ['Ave Maria"]. Her money-high notes are achieved either by chest dragging (in the healthy manner) or mixing some of head voice into her chest voice to belt.

Kelly is able to sing complex melisma though her material rarely require this skill.

Great pitch in live performances. 

Emotions:
By brilliantly executing a slight or deep rasp in her voice, Kelly is able to emote rather well when singing. Additionally, her phrasing and diction is superb, making her a fantastic emoter.

Positives:
A top echelon belter with powerful, resonant belts achieved via brilliant technique. Being capable of moving crowds by connecting with them emotionally or using her sharp, bright whistle register ["Natural Woman"], Kelly is THE ideal technical and emotive singer. 
Negatives:
Due to overuse of chest dragging, Kelly's voice sometimes becomes coarse during live performances. She should slide into her mix more often, especially when appropriate. Kelly rarely uses her whistle register live.
